Providing scholarship assistance within the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, Delaware

Award Criteria

Scholarship will be awarded annually based on the following criteria:
1. Financial need
2. Scholastic aptitude
3. Interest in Irish heritage and history in northern Delaware
4. Understanding of the principles and values of Ruth Ann Kross
Evidence satisfying criterion #1 can include (but is not limited to):
- Application for financial aid (“Vision for the Future”)
- Non-application for financial aid does not disqualify candidates for the Ruth Ann Kross Memorial Scholarship
Evidence satisfying criterion #2 can include (but is not limited to):
- “A” or “B” scholastic average
- “First” or “Second” honors
Evidence satisfying criterion #3 can include (but is not limited to):
- Extracurricular activities (e.g., museum visit(s), participation in Irish cultural activities, etc.)
- Original essay:
  - Topic: History of the Irish in Delaware
  - Format: Electronic file (Word document, etc.) or hard copy
